FREELANCE DIT

POSITION SUMMARY:
Aurora Films is seeking a Freelance Digital Imaging Technician (DIT). The DIT’s primary responsibility is to offload camera cards safely for Post Production. The DIT reports to the Director of Photography (DP) and are well-organized, precise, and punctual. The DIT should have extensive knowledge in digital files, formats, proxies, frame rate conversion, and portable media. They should be adaptable, resourceful, and must work well with others in a deadline-driven environment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Data offload and protection
Maintaining and organizing all physical and digital media
Establish an efficient and effective handoff workflow to Post Production
Creating proxy files
Data copying to multiple drives
Assisting the DP with camera settings, resolution, aspect ratio, codec, and LUTs
Providing the client and DP playback
Basic editing and temporary color correction
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Experience on a video production set, specifically in the camera department (3 years)
Extensive knowledge of media and proper offloading
A full understanding of file conversion and proxy workflows
Excellent verbal communication
Personable and professional towards clients, vendors, and crew members
Knowledge of video production gear and terminology
Flexible schedule and the ability to work long and/or irregular hours in various conditions
A valid drivers license and reliable form of transportation
PREFERRED SKILLS:
High attention to detail with the ability to follow instructions
Excellent organizational skills
The ability to exercise judgement
