POSITION SUMMARY:

Aurora Films is seeking a Freelance Scriptwriter. The Scriptwriter must possess an extensive understanding of the full video production process, from pre-production through post-production. They should be adaptable, resourceful, and must work well with others in a deadline-driven environment. Scriptwriters are forward-thinking, and can deliver thoughtful content in a compelling, easy-to-understand way. They should have experience writing for video, and understand the differences between writing voice-overs and on-screen graphics.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Writing and editing scripts for video productions

• Meeting with clients to discuss project goals and script revisions

• Immersing yourself in our clients’ brand to ensure expectations are met

• Maintaining communication with clients and producers throughout the scripting phase

• Collaborating with creatives involved in the project

• Generate outlines, treatments, and support materials

• Conduct pre-interviews as needed

• Respond to internal/external feedback

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• A passionate storyteller

• Great listener

• Familiarity with various deliverable mediums and distribution outlets

• A creative mind, willing to pitch ideas

• Handle multiple projects at one time

PREFERRED SKILLS:

• Kyno media management

• An understanding of typography and aesthetically appealing graphics and images

• Familiarity with common video effects and plug-ins

• Knowledge of production gear and terminology

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred, Film School, Associate’s or Vocational degrees will be considered.
