FREELANCE VIDEO EDITOR

POSITION SUMMARY:
Aurora Films is seeking a talented Freelance Video Editor who can create compelling stories, and bring energy to our clients’ brands. Video content includes but is not limited to: Commercial, corporate, B2B, B2C, product features, educational, and live entertainment support.
Ideal candidates are self-driven and can conceptualize powerful visual content with proficiency, creativity, and detail. Candidates should have an understanding of the full video production process from pre-production through post-production. They should be adaptable, resourceful, and must work well with others in a deadline-driven environment. Preferred candidates also have experience in animation, and visual effects.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work with team members to effectively edit video content as outlined
Edit scripted and unscripted videos through a project’s entirety
Log and review footage
Develop moving and compelling narratives through interview footage
Create motion graphics to support video edits (Lower thirds, text builds, intro/outro logo reveals)
Color-correct and master final sequences
Understand music and how it can affect the emotional feel of a video
Use sound effects and other audio/visual tools to enhance projects as needed
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Adobe Premiere Pro (Minimum 2 years)
Adobe After Effects (Minimum 1 year)
Adobe Media Encoder (Minimum 1 year)
Adobe Photoshop (Minimum 1 year)
PREFERRED SKILLS:
Keying, motion tracking, and rotoscoping for visual effects and compositing
Advanced color grading experience (DaVinci Resolve, or similar)
Mixing and mastering audio (Pro Tools, or similar)
An understanding of typography and aesthetically appealing graphics and images
Knowledge of best sequence settings, rendering, and export practices
Image parallaxing
Familiarity with common video effects and plug-ins
Kyno media management
Other NLE software including Final Cut Pro and Avid
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s Degree preferred, Associate’s or Vocational degrees will be considered.
